The Great Garage Door Design Competition

What- A contest to design the next generation of garage doors.

What are the design parameters? We are purposely vague to open your mind to any ideas. Entrants are to design the exterior of a garage door. The designs may be sketches or drawings but must be submitted in a .pdf format. Feel free to include details about materials or construction design but that is not a requirement. Let your mind be free. You do not need to design around a particular type of architecture and the doors do not have to be for a garage—there are other uses for garage doors besides garages!

Who can enter?- The competition is open to all (design and architecture students are welcome).

Is there a limit on the number of designs entered? Yes- up to 3 per entrant.

How will the winner be determined? A team from Amarr will select the winners.

What is the winner’s prize? There can be multiple winners. The winners will receive:

  • A Certificate of Achievement
  • A cash award of $500
  • A royalty based on sales

Amarr is under no obligation to manufacture any winning design.

There can be winners in the following categories:

  • Student
  • Professional Design and/or Architects
  • All others

When- The contest starts on February 6, 2012 and ends midnight on April 30, 2012

Winners will be announced on this site no later than May 31, 2012.

By submitting your design you agree that Amarr owns the full and exclusive rights to the design and you waive all claims to the design.
